I'm a Salvadoran-Cuban American graduate of the Iowa Writer's Workshop and have won awards and fellowships from the Fulbright Association, Louisiana Press Association, Cintas Foundation, and the MacDowell Colony. I taught writing and literature at the University of Iowa and am a co-founder of the Berlin Writers’ Workshop.
